  • Elon Musk made an amazing appearance at a Volkswagen AG conference.
  • At the invitation of Volkswagen CEO Herbert Dice, Tesla’s CEO spoke at a video conference.
  • Musk said he was confident the German car icon would master the transition to electric vehicles.

At the Volkswagen AG conference, Elon Musk surprised 200 German executives by addressing one of his biggest competitors’ executives, his management style and supply chain, and production issues.

Addressing a competitor, Tesla’s CEO spoke at a video conference at the invitation of Volkswagen CEO Herbert Dies, who rarely performed for corporate Titan, and said he was confident the German car icon would pass for electric vehicles.

Under Dies, Volkswagen is aiming to become the world’s largest electric car maker and has set up its largest plant against the Tesla plant under construction near Berlin. He urged his managers at the conference to make that transition as soon as possible.

Elon Musk told the team that Tesla, another engineer, was more agile than other automakers because of his management style and that he was attracted to supply chains, supplies and production processes.

Dice said it was interesting to see Tesla handle the global chip shortage, as he was able to switch to different chips in two to three weeks using software developed by Tesla.

“We need a new mentality at Volkswagen AG to take on the new competition,” Dice said in a LinkedIn post.

“It is gratifying to hear that even our most powerful competitor can translate at full power if we can succeed.”

Earlier in the day, a German newspaper, Handlesblatt, reported on Musk’s comments at the meeting.
