Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has backed former teammate Ronaldinho. The mother of a former Brazilian soccer player has died of complications from a corona virus infection.
“Ronnie, I have no words. I can not believe this. I support you. Embrace you and your whole family. I’m sorry to be at peace,” BGNS Messi said on Instagram.
Ronaldinho announced in December that his mother had been hospitalized in the intensive care unit with COVID-19. In late October, he contracted the crown virus himself.
Ronaldinho won the Champions League as part of the Barcelona football team and was a two-time winner of the Spanish Championship. He won the Italian Championship, playing for Milan.
The Brazilian was recognized by the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) in 2004 and 2005 as the best player in the world, and in 2005 he was awarded the Golden Ball. Ronaldinho won the World Cup in 2002 with the Brazilian national team. He played 97 games for Selesao and scored 33 goals.
