How to build resilience at work

In today's episode of the AskGaryVee show, I talk to Beth Comstock – former GE vice president and Imagine it Forward: Courage, Creativity and The Power of Change.

Beth is a manager of all time and a very kind person. We share a very similar philosophy on the importance of patience, fake environments, the way companies can hire the right people, and more.

Over the years, I've heard many people say wonderful things about Beth behind it.

In this episode, I think you'll understand why ?

Here's what we talk about:

– How Beth pushed to break into television reports, even if she did not trust.

– The advice Beth received from Diane Sawyer when she was at the beginning of her career

– Beth's embarrassing interaction with Ted Turner, and why she was super enthusiastic.

– How to gradually get out of your comfort zone

– How to teach children that failure is a stepping stone

– The greatest fear I have when it comes to raising my children

– How home moms can return to the workplace after years of not working

– Because adversity is a huge advantage in the Internet era

– Our advice at 18, 22 and 30 who are anxious not to have done it yet

There are some things that I think make this conversation super interesting:

– Beth talks about how – at 30 – she was so shy that she really had to go and talk to her boss. So many of you are "tricked" by ages like 18, 22 or 30. Many of you do not realize that you can still understand things at 30 and still get incredible success in your career.

– I was a student of D and F at school, and I really believe that "losing" at school helped me in real life. We answer a big question about how to teach children that failure is a stepping stone.

– Let's talk about how a housewife mom can go back to work and still dominate, even if she has been out of the work force for years.

– We talk about our shared beliefs about false environments, and because it's my biggest fear when it comes to raising my children.
