How to know that God loves you

Audio transcription

The love of God is not His which saves us suffering and death. His love is primarily his showing us and giving ourselves in his glory. God loves us primarily by giving ourselves and all that is for us in Jesus. Jesus loves us primarily by giving ourselves and all that God is for us in him.

This is mainly the way he loves us. He loves us in other ways, but mainly everything is moving towards that. You are loved by Jesus when Jesus gives you Jesus and all that God is for you in Jesus. So please, do not measure God's love for you with how much health, wealth and comfort you bring into your life. If this were the measure of God's love, then he hated the apostle Paul.

"The love of God is not His which saves us suffering and death, His love is primarily His showing us and giving ourselves in His glory".

Measure the love of God for you than you show yourself. Measure the love of God for yourself than it gives you to know and enjoy yourself through everything – and then in eternal glory in its time. You've tasted it, right? You know what I mean.

We try to confirm it because this is enormous. I hope you can feel how big this is. This is huge, so I want you to understand this in depth so you feel loved in the way God intends you to feel love. So let's confirm it with two steps in John.

Surely someone will rightly say to me: "Well, when I think of God's love for me, I think of John 3:16," Because God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that anyone he believes in him should not perish but have eternal life & # 39; ". And to that I say "Yes, yes, yes, even to me, for all my life, me too."

Now let me ask you this: What is eternal life? What is this gift that has cost him his son's life? Let Jesus define it. Do you know where he defines him in the Gospel of John? There is a clear definition in John 17: 3: "This is eternal life, which know you, the only true God and Jesus Christ whom you have sent". Period. This is eternal life: knowing it, knowing it forever, knowing it with ever increasing knowledge, increasing its admiration, increasing amazement and increasing joy. This is eternal life.

Eternal life is not eternal golf or anything else. No, it's eternal he – Always more and more, like a great alpine range. And you climb above the first ray after 10,000 years, and there's another one to climb. And you crawl on that ray of glory after 10,000 years, and there's another one to climb. And you're never, never bored. It's all him.

Eternal life is revealed by God in his glory, satisfying this cavernous desire that is in your heart that you are trying to fill yourself with television or internet or whatever. And me. Six extraordinary creatures – the only ones on the planet to do this: know it.

In John 14:21, Jesus says: "Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves me, and he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest to him". I love that phrase: "I will love them and show myself to them". Here's what it's love. I want you to feel loved by Jesus when he does it for you. You must have a different vision of love than the world.

But we are born again. Our citizenship is in paradise. We are new creatures. We do not think like the world. Being loved for the Christian is getting more from him. "Come on, Jesus. You show yourself and I will feel loved."

"Measure the love of God for you than you show yourself".

Oh, how many of us can witness this reality with gratitude and joy in the days of suffering, in the days of loss, in the days of darkness. When it seemed that everything around our soul gave way, he introduced himself. This was what it meant to be loved – not that the pain went off quickly, not that the loss had ever vanished. Christ came Christ revealed himself to me.

When I was 28, standing in the bookstore, ready to make the funeral for my mother the day after Christmas in 1974, Jesus introduced himself. I would not change that moment for her life, and she understood it. I did not get it back. I can cry over my mother's death in thirty seconds. All I have to do is remember some things, and here it comes. Nobody had more meaning for me in those days when I was growing up than my mother, and God caught me in a bus accident when I was 28 years old.

But Jesus showed up and showed me things about him that I never passed. You tasted it. You know what I'm talking about. And I hope that for those of you who have not done so, God will use this service to awaken the taste.
