How to monetize your Instagram Tip n. 1: know your "why"
Before you go out and buy video production equipment to create your first online course, you need to spend some time thinking about what your course will be and, more importantly, because.
One of the best ways to This it's at To explore the intersection between your passion, your skills and what the market requires.
Your passion is what really excites you. Think of it this way: if you had to wake up tomorrow and spend the whole day doing what you love, what would it be?
Take note of this. The things that excite you – that make you smile – are your passions and you should center your course around these topics.
So you want to look at your talents. What are you really good at? What do you have a lot of experience with? If someone were to call you and ask for help, what could you help them?
In other words, what skills do you have that you can teach someone?
The last thing you want to look at is the market demand. What do people ask? What do people want to know more about? What does the world need most? And, more importantly, what are the people willing to pay to learn?
If you can put this final part in line with your passion and your talents, it will create an incredible opportunity to start sharing your message with the world.
So how do you find the market demand?
Perhaps your followers continue to ask you the same kind of questions, such as how to stretch properly after a workout or how to stage your shots on Instagram? You need to tune in to what your customers are asking for.
A great example comes from @minimalistbaker, an ultra-popular Instagram account that shares simple recipes based on plants.
If you look at the Baker Minimalist feed, you might think that an appropriate course would be on plant nutrition, cooking or something.
In fact, the Minimalist Baker has created a course on food photography.
How did you land on that topic? He listened to his community. He noticed that many comments on his posts were asking how he made such beautiful photos of his culinary creations – this is what his audience really wanted to know.

How to monetize your Instagram Tip n. 2: Listen to your followers
Once you have a idea of what you want your course to beIt's time to do a little more listening and find out what your followers are most interested in learning about.
Also, you want to tune in to the things that are happening in the market, so do some research, go into Google and find out which are the questions that are asked to you regularly.
Do you have a blog and every time you publish you receive the same 20 questions? These are probably a good starting point for starting to determine the content of the course.
And if you're not getting these questions and you do not really know what they want to learn your followers, here's a tip from insiders: ask him!
This is the easiest way to find out what your followers want to know. And Instagram made this super easy with the addition of features like Instagram Stories, survey stickers and new adhesive questions.
Need help finding questions for your community? Here are two great ones to start:
1. What is your biggest challenge with XYZ?
This is a big question to ask yourself when you know what you want to teach but you are looking for specific topics to focus on.
For example, you could ask your community "What is your biggest challenge with plant-based nutrition?" And you can then build your course around the topics and challenges that people raise.
TIP: Packing as much information as possible into your course does not mean it will be very effective. You want to get the most important content for your users in a simple form.
2. I am thinking of creating a course on the XYZ topic. What questions do you have that you would like me to cover?
This is another great question for your community to help you better organize your course content.
Use the answers you get to track the chapters of your course e reconnect any subject areas you may lose. In this way, you will cover all the topics your community is interested in learning about.
How to monetize your Instagram n. 3: run it there
Once you know what you are teaching and you talked to your followers and you have discovered what they want to know, it is important to test and validate the course content.
This is super important. It will help you get your content faster and start generating revenue faster.
Here are three simple ways you can do it:
1. Host a mini-course or a free challenge
The first way to get your course out there is to host a mini-course or a free challenge. And one of the best examples of this comes from Jen Esquer of @docjenfit.
To get better results during her course, Jen started a mobility challenge and offered it to her followers for free.
Hosting a free challenge like Jen has done is a great way to prepare your community and start your sales channel by collecting email addresses before your main course is published.
2. Pre-sell your course
The next step is to pre-sell your course. Matt Kohn of @differenthunger done and pre-sold his course for $ 3,000 to 10 students, which means he did $ 30,000 in revenue before its course was even created!
Matt tested and proved that people were willing to pay for what he wanted to teach. And as a result, he was able to monetize his Instagram even before entering the camera.
3. Beta Start your course
The third strategy is to launch your beta course. The reason you need to start the beta course is because it allows you to get feedback from users and start creating testimonials in preparation for your full launch.
With a beta launch, you will offer your minimum vital product course (or your MVP) at a discounted rate in exchange for feedback.
This is the key here. You need to make sure your customers understand because they are getting such a discount. By creating this open line of communication you can continue to scroll through the concepts of your course and make sure to improve your course and get social proofs for your launch.
How to monetize your Instagram Tip n. 4: understand your sales channeling
Let's talk about some sales funnel: a concept that you've probably already heard.
When you try to monetize your Instagram account with online courses, it helps you think about your followers and where they are in the funnel.
Awareness is created at the top of the funnel. These are your followers on Instagram who have a problem and are aware of it. So your goal here is the instruction.
By moving to the center of your channel, these are your followers who realize they have a problem and now look for solutions.
Finally, at the bottom of your channel, you have your followers who realize they have a problem, are looking for solutions and are ready to act.
Now, imagine all your followers on Instagram at the top of the funnel. How can you convince them to take the plunge and buy your online course?
The answer: creating content of great value that creates trust, nurture your relationship and really consider where your followers are on their journey.
You need to think about what your followers want or need, what they are not sure, and what kind of content they might find most valuable.
Once you understand these things, you can start creating amazing content that builds your mailing list.
In this way, when you start your full course, you will already have a host of fans who trust you and are ready to buy from you.
And the nice thing about this is that once you start creating an online course, all of this content can be decompressed from your course. In this way you can always lead to that one course and really help your followers to interact with you on a deeper level.
How to monetize your Instagram Tip # 5: Be consistent with your promotion
When you are able to connect with your followers to a deeper level, your sales will almost certainly go up. And that's why it's so important to be consistent in your promotion – it helps you build and power those connections.
Of course, this is not always easy. A lot of people feel uncomfortable posting that Instagram Live video more. They do not want to know about sales and scare their followers.

This week I challenge you to LIVE! There are so many advantages in going LIVE. From experience, with LIVE LIVE sessions on Instagram and Facebook on a regular basis, as well as the launch of LIVE sessions on Youtube and testing of Twitter LIVES, here are some of the things I learned from it. ? 1. Feedback is a gift, meaning you can receive feedback on your content in real time from your audience. You can easily check how your content is received by your audience. It's a particular topic that resonates with your viewers, shares it live, gets instant feedback and responses, before dedicating yourself to writing blogs or articles on Linkedin / Medium, filming a video produced for Youtube, #IGTV and so on. Pr 2. Practice of Public Speaking – on a personal note, I learned a lot about my presentation and the peculiarities and shortcomings of public speaking, and even if I'm absolutely not where I'd like to be a public speaker, I've definitely improved since I started to make more LIVE streaming. Learn every day! Conn 3. Connect with other leaders in your space: you can have a remote host on Instagram, Facebook and Youtube, which makes it a great way to easily collaborate with other leaders in your space. Ask them to join you on your channel so you can share their experience with your audience and plan to be a guest on their channel too, so you can share what you know with their audience. It is a winning victory because you will both be exposed to a new audience. There is no competition when it comes to this – when content creators collaborate, everyone wins, not only the creators of content are exposed to a new audience, but the audience is also exposed to new knowledge! Win-win-win! ? So my challenge for you is to go LIVE on @Instagram LIVE, @Facebook LIVE, or @Youtube LIVE this week! Do it today if you can. Check the comments for some easy ideas to go to LIVE …. ??
There must definitely be a balance, but as Jen Esquer says, when your promotion comes from a place of passion, your followers will hear it.
It's not just about making more sales, it's about offering your passion and creating content that you think really valid.
That's why it's so important to start from the beginning, go through your true call diagram, tune into your passion and use it to drive the rest of what you do.
These are just some of the ways you can use to monetize your Instagram with online courses.
