Home security is something everyone thinks about: if you are a homeowner or if you live in an apartment. Some spaces are equipped with integrated security systems such as intercoms, doorman or maybe it's just a big barking dog.
Most people associate more advanced security systems with a high price, along with people who need to install a number of devices, such as security cameras, and then monitor them for you. However, there are a number of gadgets you can configure on a weekend and link them together to create a fairly solid home security network alone.
During our Live on Facebook, Tuesday 18 September at 2:00 pm ET, we will show you some of our favorite and tested devices that you can buy and install yourself. Called do-it-yourself or do-it-yourself, this type of product is meant to be easy enough to put in your own space. Think of smart locks, smart video bells and security cameras that can be controlled from inside your home – and even when you're away from a remote app.
There are also packages sold by companies that you can still install yourself, but which are then controlled by a company for you. Whatever you're best with: monitor your devices or have someone you can contact when you need them: there's a system for you.
